In 1995, a non-profit consortium of education and industry was formed to develop an employer driven training center charged with providing a range of training and education programs. The Industrial Workforce Training Consortium (IWTC) is located in the center of the Jonesboro Industrial Park, at 5504 Krueger. The building was completed in May 1997.  The name was changed in 1999 to Workforce Training Consortium when a construction curriculum  was added.  Regional employers are invited to become members of the consortium, with fees assessed based on the level of membership.

To date, over 4,618 students have completed over 63,000 hours of classroom instruction in 6 different areas of study.
