Course Title: Intermediate Programmable Logic Controllers

Prerequisites: Introduction to PLC (#600.500)

Course Length and Maximum Class Size:

24 Classroom hours given in (8) 3 hour sessions. Maximum class size is 20

Objective:

Programming the SLC 500 with a computer as opposed to the hand held terminal. Advanced PLC programming (not covered in the Introduction to PLC.)

Content:

1. Computer skills for PLC programming  3 hours
2. Advanced sequencer instructions 3 hours
3. Master control and zone control instructions 3 hours
4. Jump instructions and subtractions 3 hours
5. Data manipulation instructions 6 hours
 
  1. PUT and GET instructions
  2. Data compare instructions
  3. Data manipulations programs
  4. Numerical data I/o interfacing
  5. Set point control
 
6. Math instructions 3 hours
7. Advanced program editing 3 hours
