Course Title: Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers

Prerequisites:

  • Technical Math (# 800.100) or equivalent knowledge.
  • Basic Electrical Overview (# 600.100) or equivalent knowledge.
  • Electrical Series (#600.200)

Course Length and Maximum Class Size:

24 Classroom hours given in (8) 3 hour sessions. Maximum class size is 18.

Objective:

To provide an overview of PLC’s including hardware components, number systems, and codes, and the basics of programming and applications.

2. Number Systems--Fundamentals of Logic 3 Hours
3. Basics of Programming 3 Hours
4. Timers and Counters 3 Hours
5. Data Manipulation 3 Hours
6. Sequencers 3 Hours
