Course Title: Introduction to TIG Welding

 Prerequisites: Welding experience in Stick or MIG welding.

Course Length and Maximum Class Size:

  • 12 hour introduction to TIG /36 hour practice blocks
  • Classroom hours given in (16) 3 hour sessions.
  • Maximum class size is 6.

Objective:

To study inert gas welding, equipment, and safe practices different uses of and advantages of this type welding.

  • Set up Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding equipment
  • Make fillet weld
  • Make full penetration weld
  • Make plug weld
  • TIG weld in flat position
  • TIG weld in horizontal position
  • TIG weld in vertical position
  • Weld testing
