  Course Title: Introduction to Oxy-Acetylene Cutting and Welding

 Prerequisites: None

 Course Length and Maximum Class Size:

12 hours given in (4) 3 hour sessions.
Maximum class size is 6.

Objective:

To study or improve skills in Plasma Arc Cutting (an arc cutting process that uses a constricted arc and removes the molten metal with a high velocity jet of ionized gas issuing from the constricting orifice).

Content:

  • Introduction: 1 hr.
    Terminology & Safety
    Setting up and operating of Oxy-fuel equipment
  • Cutting: 5 hrs.
    Practice
  • Welding: 6 hrs.
    Flat welding position
    Out of position welding
    Brazing
